Velofant began its journey by re-cycling bikes and organizing flea markets in some of Stockholm's parks. Today we strive to develop this legacy - our sustainable approach.

As a result we are committed to avoiding countries with lower labor and production costs. Therefore, we assemble our bikes in Sweden and collaborate with manufacturers in Europe, Japan, and Taiwan.

However, we recognize that manufacturing process of bikes are a processes that generates pollution and there's no simple way to change that reality. That’s why we're committed to continuously finding ways to lower our environmental impact, that is one reason why we use steel in our frames.

It takes seven times more energy to produce aluminum compared to steel. Additionally, steel is part of the natural cycle and therefore easy to recycle, a better option for the climate.

Quality steel frames are also abundant, durable and repairable. They last a long, long time.

It's not rocket science, we know that the overall impact of cars is negative for the climate, health and the city life. A danish architect sumarize it well:

Our vision is that all the bicycles we sell should make more people feel the joy, the freedom, but also experience the added value the bicycle gives you and the area you live in. Getting more people to cycle is of great importance for future climate-neutral cities, we hope to be able be a small cog in this transition.
